Software manual
This help page is called from the program menu «Help – Help» and using the hot key F1.
Three program modules are used for the competition: the configurator program, the main program and the program-registry of dance couples. Tournament software is currently provided “as is”. For specific questions, please contact the program support service by e-mail. Below is a list of the main functions of the package, the consistent implementation of which allows the contest to be held.
Contestant categories management carried out in the menu «Tables – Contestant categories». The list of categories entered here defines the contents of the «Contestants» menu of the main program. Usually, the list of categories differs from tournament to tournament.
Dance list management carried out in the menu «Tables – Dance types». Names and abbreviated names of dances (Waltz-SW, Tango-T, etc.) are entered here. Then they are displayed in the main program and reports.
Setting up dance programs carried out in the menu «Tables – Dance programs». A list of dance programs is entered, for each of which a specific set of dances is assigned (for example, St: SW, T, F, Q, VW).
Start of the tournament occurs when you select the menu «Tournament – New». Using the F2 hotkey, editing is enabled, general information about the tournament is entered, which will be displayed in the competition protocol. Saving the entered data is done by pressing Enter, canceling changes using the Esc key.
Entering competition contestants is performed in the menu «Participants» by selecting the appropriate category. Using the hot key Ins a new couple is added, dancers are entered and dancers are assigned dance programs (standard, latin, etc.) in which the couple will participate.
Definition of competition program is done by entering the nominations of the tournament (categories of contestants with a given dance program) in the menu «Program – Nomination list». For each nomination, the initial round of competitions (semi-finals, finals, etc.) is set, and the list of dances by default can also be adjusted. After entering the nominations in the menu "Program – Competition program» the general program of the tournament is available, which can be edited and printed.
Definition of adjudication program is done after menu selection «Adjudicators – Adjudicator list», entering information about all adjudicators of the tournament and then calling the menu "Adjudicators – Adjudication program». Pressing the F2 key allows you to sequentially put down marks in the table of adjudication.
Registration of the nomination is done from the menu "Program – Registration» for the nomination selected in the list. Registration fixes the list of contestants and adjudicators and allows you to start working with the initial round of the competition, which becomes available from the menu "Competition – Round list».
Holding a competition round takes place according to the following scheme (by menu items):
Closing nomination is performed after the calculation of the final. In the menu «Reports – Nomination protocol" the final protocol with the results is printed, then in the menu item "Competition – Close nomination» the nomination is excluded from the lists of nominations and rounds.
Manage printing carried out from the menu «File – Print jobs…». The dialog that opens allows you to view the generated reports page by page and print them (or cancel printing). Report printing is only available to licensed users.
Direct editing registry available from the menu «Operations» and using hotkeys Ins, F2, Del, Enter and Esc. The generated register is used in the main program to speed up the entry of competition contestants.
Sorting and searching by the selected column is done from the «Operations» menu, as well as using the hot keys F9 for sorting and F7 to search. The search is performed on string fields when you enter the search text in the list.
Import couple list into the registry occurs when you select the menu «File – Add file…». The dialog that opens allows you to select a file containing the contestants of the tournament from the main program and include them in the general registry.
